As part of the construction of the Light Rail, Klampenborgvej was permanently closed to car traffic. Today, only Light Rail services, buses and cyclists use the section between Lyngby Hovedgade and Kanalvej. This has created a pedestrian-friendly urban space with outdoor dining, play and seating areas, as well as wide pedestrian areas.
Two of the local railway’s stations are approximately a 500-metre walk from Lyngby Centrum Light Rail Station: Lyngby Lokal Station and Nørgaardsvej Station. The local railway runs to Jægersborg S-train Station and to Nærum via Brede, where you can find the National Museum’s Brede site at Brede Værk, the former textile mills.
Maintenance works may require partial or full closure of the Light Rail for a period to ensure works can be carried out safely. When possible, works are scheduled during the evening and night to minimise disruption to passengers.
There may also be more significant or longer-lasting service changes due to unexpected operational incidents, obstructing the Light Rail services on part or all of the route for a period of time.
In such cases, replacement bus services will be provided. However, passengers should expect longer journey times when using replacement buses compared with the Light Rail.
On the map, you can see where to find the replacement bus stop at your station.
