Herlev Hospital
Herlev Hospital is one of Denmark’s largest hospitals and a prominent landmark along the Greater Copenhagen Light Rail. The hospital opened in 1976 and was designed by architects Gehrdt Bornebusch, Max Brüel and Jørgen Selchau. The 120-metre-high tower block, with 25 floors, is one of Denmark’s most iconic hospital buildings, known for Poul Gernes’ colourful artwork and interior decoration.

Find your way to the station
Herlev and Gentofte Hospital has approximately 7,700 employees and treats more than 160,000 emergency visits each year, as well as over 1 million outpatient visits. The hospital is a highly specialised university hospital with particular expertise in cancer treatment, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, cardiology and pulmonology, as well as emergency care and research.
Take the bus when we maintain the Light Rail
Maintenance works may require partial or full closure of the Light Rail for a period to ensure works can be carried out safely. When possible, works are scheduled during the evening and night to minimise disruption to passengers.
There may also be more significant or longer-lasting service changes due to unexpected operational incidents, obstructing the Light Rail services on part or all of the route for a period of time.
In such cases, replacement bus services will be provided. However, passengers should expect longer journey times when using replacement buses compared with the Light Rail.
